Podcast FM provides a wealth of features to get your message heard, whatever it is.
Multiple podcast channels
Podcasts come in two parts: channels and podcasts. Podcasts are the MP3 files people download and listen to, channels are what allows subscribers to keep up to date with your latest output.
Every podcast is part of a channel, and all the podcasts within a channel are date-ordered. This means that by checking the channel regularly, subscribers can tell when a new podcast is available.
With podcast FM, you can have multiple channels, allowing subscribers to only access the shows they're interested in.
Uploads your podcasts to the web
Once you have recorded your podcast, Podcast FM will take care of the rest. We will host your file with an easy-to-use uploader. Once uploaded, Podcast Fm will automatically calculate the file size, play length and bitrate.
Adds ID3 tags to your MP3s
ID3 tags are stored within all MP3 files and provide information such as the artists, title, category and so on. Every time you upload an MP3 with Podcast FM, the site will check your ID3 tags to make sure they are filled in. This means that your files will display all the right information whenever and wherever they're played.
If you have uploaded an image for your channel, it can also be added to an ID3 tag and so be displayed when ever your podcast is played.
Handles hosting and file serving
Podcasting can be very bandwidth intensive. Having many subscribers regularly loading XML files and downloading large MP3 files can make podcasting impossible on limited-bandwidth hosting systems. With Podcast FM hosting your XML subscription files and MP3s, you can save your bandwidth for other uses. Just point potential subscribers at Podcast FM and we'll handle the rest.
Video podcast enabled
Podcast FM's easy-to-use interface handles both audio and video podcasts. For maximum flexibility, Podcast FM publishers are not restricted to how they mix audio and video - one channel can contain any mixture of the two podcast formats.
Podcast FM is able to read and analyze all populare video formats, calculating and recording framerates, lengths, screen sizes and other information needed to build your subscription files..
Supports subscriptions for all major podcatchers including iTunes
In order to subscribe to your podcast, your website needs to generate an XML file listing all the podcasts in that channel. Podcast FM creates this file automatically, ensuring that all your podcasts are in the correct order and adding information about each one either by directly reading the MP3 or by checking what you wrote at the time of uploading.
iTunes uses a special version of the XML subscription file to show extended information. Podcast FM is fully compatible with this special extended XML file. Podcast FM is also compatible with Universal Subscription Mechanism enabled podcatchers and Yahoo's extended Media RSS module.
Whatever method people use to access your podcasts, Podcast FM will work.
Tracks downloads and subscriptions
Podcast FM takes note every time someone's podcatching software checks a channel to see if there are updates and every time a podcast is downloaded. This allows you to see just how popular your podcasts are and which ones are drawing the most attention.
Add images to your channels
Podcast Fm handles the uploading, resizing and storage of these images so they integrate seamlessly in applicable podcatchers.
Queue up future podcasts
By putting future dates by your podcasts, you can have them only appear at that time, effectively queuing up future broadcasts. Not having access to a computer for any length of time won't leve your subscribers wondering if you've gone off air.
Generates HTML for your website
Adding subscription buttons to your website couldn't be easier wit Podcast FM's button generator. Just choose your button and what additional information links or subscription methods you want to have displayed and Podcast FM will generate the HTML for you to cut and paste into your website. No technical web programming knowledge is needed.
Loads of buttons to choose from
We have created a whole gallery of subscription buttons for the use of our customers. Each is professionally designed and we handle the hosting for you so you won't have your bandwidth eaten up by people downloading them.
Automatic directory listing
Unless you specify otherwise, we will add all your channels and podcasts to our directory. This opens up a great source for new listeners and subscribers. Additionally, anyone browsing our directory will be able to listen to a short sample of any of your podcasts with our Flash sample player or use out Tell A Friend page to pass on information about your shows to others who might find them interesting.
